So That's How Smart MIT Kids Are...
I was randomly selected to take a test at MIT for seeing the difference between freshman and seniors. I signed up because after taking two-three tests, at two hours a piece, you can win 150 dollars.
Today was the first test, and it was humbling to say the least, seeing all the other students leaving the test, while I did not finish. I did not have the reading ability to read as fast as I could to...

I Have Found My Voice
It took me awhile to realize with my reading for pleasure, but I just realised that I can read a book silently. I can hear the voice of myself mentally. While it is true there are a few words that trip me, where I have to sound it out softly, but I can maintain the voice.
At this level, I can now construct and understand a story in my mind without having to focus to much on the words. I can read...

The Road Not Taken
This week was hard to go through, seeing the kids running off through the career fair, going for interviews and group meetings with the companies that came by.
I decided to focus on the work for my class and my new thesis that I am getting started with. I am really grateful that Professor Van Vliet is giving a chance to be my advisor. And while having only two classes to take, it takes me awhile...

I have started working on my problem set, which is the homework at MIT given at weekly intervals. It is due on Monday and I decided to start on it early since I know how slow I am these days. Today was the first day of class for John. He said he felt he could keep up with the material and was able understand the lecture. Of course this is the first day but at least he didn’t feel overwhelmed on the first day.
